Starting a new business can be difficult, but it can be even harder if you don't have an online presence. One of the most important things for a new business is getting that first customer. When it comes to attracting these customers, there's one thing that you need: GOOD SEO.
People often ask if they need to worry about SEO when their business is new. They also wonder why they're not on the first page of Google even though their business has been around for a while. So, in this episode, we will discuss how to make your new business successful with SEO.

Atiba de Souza: I get this all the time. Where business owners say this to me, new business owners that is, "Hey, my business is new. I don't need to worry about this whole SEO thing do I?" Or the other side of that question that I get, which is, "Hey, my business is new and, I've been around for six months. Why am I not on page one of Google?" I get both of those questions all the time from people who are new in business and so I'm gonna take a little time today on Traffic Keys Media, and we're gonna discuss those. Hey everybody. Welcome to Traffick Keys Media. I am your host, Atiba. So, these questions are pretty big guys. You know, people asking why is it so important? SEO? In my new business and vice versa. My business is new. Why haven't I mastered SEO? Why am I not on page one yet? So let's break these two things down. So, number one, the thing that you have to know about SEO, is SEO is a slow process.
Alright. It takes time. It takes time. Even on very, very mature sites. There are times where we will make changes, post an article on a mature website that's been around for 10 plus years and it will take Google three, four months to even recognize that the new page is there. That's just the nature of the beast.
And so if your website is brand new, it might take even longer. And so the biggest reason why SEO is important for your new business is because you have to start the clock. The clock has to start. If you wait for three years from now and then start worrying about SEO, guess what? That's when your clock will start.
That's when it will start. But, if you start today three years from now, you can be in a much better place than if you were, if you were to just start three years from now. Okay. So it's very important for a new business to at least consider the baseline and foundation of SEO and making sure that when they look at their Technical SEO. They're On-page and they're Off-page SEO that they have a strategy and a plan for what they are doing with their website and not just leaving it the chance of, "Oh, I put up a site and then it's just there." Okay. Make sure you put up a site that actually is going to perform well and start to grow with you.
Alright. So very, very important for a new business, and that's why you really need to be considering it. If you're starting your business. Do you need to go out and spend thousands and thousands of dollars? Do you need to hire somebody like me? Absolutely not for your new website. Absolutely not.
That is a waste of your money right now. Right now, you got too many other things to worry about. And because it's gonna take quite a while. Before things start to happen. What you need to do right now is just understand some of the basics and make sure you have those things in place. Wanna know what some of the basics are?
I cover those in a lot of other videos here on this channel. So you can go look at some of those. Go look at some of those and cover some of your basics. Now, the flip side let's say you've been in business for six months, even a year, even two years. And you've put up this website two years ago and you said, "Hey, I put this up, but people can't find me. They can't find me in Google when they search." Yeah, they probably can't yet. Why? Maybe because you didn't have an SEO plan two years ago, that's number one, when you started. And then number two, because it just takes time. And, and I hate to say that to you in that way, because I know it sounds really, really trite and it sounds like I'm just kind of pushing it off, but the reality is it does. It really does.
And how long does it take? Every site is different. Every niche is different. And so I can't even give you a true estimate and predictor on that. Okay? What I can tell you though is, that if you create a solid SEO plan, and you begin to execute a solid SEO plan, that you should start to see some level of movement inside of six months.
Yep. Six months. That's what it's gonna take. You're gonna have to be patient for a good six months. You should start to see some kind of movement. Now, does that mean you're gonna be on page one? Nope. You're not. You're not. You're not gonna be on page one. In six months, you may be on page five. And he said, "Well, page five?! Nobody goes to page five!"
Yeah. But guess what? Every site that's on page one was at one point on page five. And so you have to start. Be happy that she got to page five and then let's come up with a strategy to get you from page five, to page one. That's how it works. That's how it works. And that's why it takes time. That's why it takes time.
